THUG SURFACE POPPER YELLOW
THUG Surface Popper — Loud, Mean & Built to Smash
The THUG Surface Popper is designed for one thing — violent topwater strikes. At 100mm and 29g, this popper throws a massive presence on the surface, spitting water, popping hard, and demanding attention from anything hunting up top. Cast it long, work it loud, and watch predators explode all over it.
When you want chaos on the surface, you tie on a THUG.
Why the THUG Hits Hard
- Aggressive cup face for loud pops and big spray
- 29g weight for long, accurate casts in wind or swell
- 100mm body perfect for estuary, river, and inshore predators
- Stable action at slow or fast retrieves
- Built tough to handle brutal surface strikes
Target species
- Coastal surface feeders: yellowtail kingfish, tailor, Australian salmon, bonito and trevally.
- Northern estuaries and flats: barramundi, mangrove jack, queenfish and giant trevally (GTs).
- Shallow flats: flathead actively feeding near the surface.
Match your presentation to local prey, fishing conditions and the species present.
Anything that hunts on top will try to destroy a THUG.
How to Fish It
- Pop‑pause‑pop for explosive ambush strikes
- Fast blooping retrieve to fire up aggressive predators
- Walk‑the‑dog with pops for pressured fish
- Burn‑and‑stop to trigger reaction hits
The THUG Surface Popper is built for anglers who want noise, attitude, and topwater carnage.

Why FTP Fishing
We’re not a big corporation — we actually fish what we sell. Every lure is designed with real-world use in mind, so you can fish with confidence knowing it’s been tested where it matters.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
After saltwater use, gently rinse lures, hooks and jig heads with fresh water and allow them to dry thoroughly before storing.
Store tackle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and hot car interiors. Keep soft plastics lying straight in their original packaging, with different colours and plastic types separated to help prevent colour transfer or material reactions.
Before each session, check lures, hooks, split rings and other fittings for damage, wear or corrosion. Replace damaged components before use.
SHIPPING & RETURNS
We strive to process and ship all orders in a timely manner, working diligently to ensure that your items are on their way to you as soon as possible. Need to return something? Just let us know.
